One month out from season 2026 starting and I’m absolutely buzzing, can i kick on this season and improve my golf? Or will i be still trying to hit the hero shot that never comes off? Time will tell!

It’s now February 2026, and although I have nothing to report on handicap improvement due to it being the off season, I would like to write this blog purely dedicated to the mental side of golf and what I have learned, liked and seen the benefit from over the last 12 months.
So let’s rewind just a little…well 12 months in fact. At this time last year I made the decision to go get coaching.
The final of a club major, golf with old friends and a major golfing decision has been made for the 2026 season.
A riot of a round, a crisis of confidence and a Round at Royal Troon, something super cool and some reflection. Its a rollercoaster.
This is the month that over the last few seasons my scoring has been the best of any month during the season.
Are there any signs that the work im putting in is paying off? Is my index ever going to come down?
May started with renewed optimism. I could see that my golf game was going in the right direction with a few of my end of April performances.
I prepared for this round much differently than any other round I have played in 12 years.
